What is LPN?

Difference between LPN and RN

Licensed practical nurse (LPN)

This position requires education in a 12- to 18-month program that has been approved by the state. The National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, must be passed in order for you to start working as an LPN.

Registered practical nurse (RN)

RNs must have completed a two-year associate’s degree program in nursing, while employers are increasingly requiring four-year bachelor’s degrees. Furthermore, RNs have to pass the NCLEX exam, and many choose to obtain further certification in a specialty.

Fulfil requirements for training and education

Your formal school program must be completed. Several technical educational institutions  provide LPN training courses. It typically takes one to two years, according to your state or region requirements . You need to finish your school education or its equivalent, pass the program’s enrollment exam, and enroll in an accredited LPN training program.

This program provides knowledge on various subjects as well, such as biology, anatomy, physiology, psychology, pharmacology, etc.

LPN degree at PITC

PITC is offering day and evening classes for LPNs. Duration for day classes is 15 months. Duration for evening classes is 17 months. Online classes are not provided anymore.
