Practical Nursing Program in Wyncote, PA

PITC Institute’s Practical Nurse – Associate in Specialized Technology (AST) Degree program combines classroom instruction, nursing skills labs, and supervised clinical practice in Wyncote, Pennsylvania. PITC is currently enrolling Pennsylvania residents only.

The Practical Nurse AST program comprises 1,500 clock hours and 67.5 credit hours over 68 weeks. Its four terms cover nursing skills, body structure and function, pharmacology, nutrition, maternal and child health, pediatrics, medical-surgical nursing, gerontology, and clinical practice.

Day and Evening classes are available. Day classes meet Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m.; evening classes meet Monday–Thursday, 6:00–10:00 p.m. All coursework is in person. Lab and clinical hours may differ from classroom hours and may include weekends. Admissions can explain the schedule for a specific cohort.

Published itemized program costs total $35,491. Students may also have costs for required clinical documentation, testing, certifications, immunizations, and clearances. Ask the Financial Aid Office about eligibility, and review the current School Catalog and Enrollment Agreement before enrolling.

Graduates who meet applicable Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing requirements may apply to take the NCLEX-PN. Program completion does not guarantee exam passage, licensure, or employment.

PITC Institute is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) and is currently on Show Cause status.
